Digging has begun in Konkourona to prepare for the trees to be planted for reforestation in the rainy season from June to September.
Renovations of an existing building to be used as a library are almost complete and the shelving, tables and chairs have been ordered. This will be the first time that reading materials other than textbooks are widely available, which will open new worlds of knowledge. There are so many people in the village that learned basic reading skills in elementary school, but had no access to books after that. Now, learning can continue for people of all ages.
Great progress has been made on construction of the headquarters building and temporary housing for teachers.
The brickwork for the walls is almost finished.
The medical equipment and supplies for the health center are now in Burkina Faso, waiting to be released by customs. We are very eager to see this part of journey be completed so we can finally plan for the opening.
